This is an outdoor rock garden exhibit consiting of about 28 large rocks. They border a gravel path and have flowers planted about the area. There was a table and bench area. The rock description sheet is obtained from inside the Nelson County Visitors Center.

Frye was the author of “Modern Mineralogy,
The Encyclopedia of Mineralogy” and the popular “Roadside Geology of
Virginia.” After his retirement, he continued to lead field trips for
the Wintergreen Nature Foundation.)
