The Division of Mineral Resources Has a New Name 

The Virginia Department of Mines, Minerals and Energy’s Division of Mineral Resources has changed its name to the Division of Geology and Mineral Resources.  This change, was effective as of July 1, 2008.

Back issues of Virginia Division of Mineral Resources Virginia Minerals publication are now online in .pfd format.  "Virginia Minerals" are a publication containing lots of articles on rockhounding in Virginia,  mineral resources and industries, geologic studies, road log descriptions of geologic features, mineral and fossil characteristics, topographic mapping and DMR activities.
