JON W. LAPORTE of FISHERSVILLE, VA
 (February 12, 1948 - July 10, 2007)

Jon Laporte passed Tuesday, July 10, 2007, at 6:00am at the Augusta Medical Center after his battle with the cancer which had returned  this spring.   Jon was current president of the Shenandoah Valley Gem & Mineral Society.

Private services will be held with family and friends. In lieu of flowers and gifts, please send donations in Jon W. Laporte’s name, payable to Geology Dept. Mineral Museum and send to Dr. Kearns, Geology Dept., MSC 6903, Harrisonburg, VA 22807.
